Meet Martin! We asked him a few questions on his journey and advocacy

with Martin Slyngstad 8 mins 2 reactions

Martin is an award-winning disability advocate living in the US. He is an autistic author, public speaker, Special Olympics and more recently teaches anxiety management. He trains first responders on how to safely and respectfully support autistic individuals during emergencies and works with educators to improve teaching practices for autistic students helping prevent harm and build understanding.

Martin's work is deeply personal and impactful. After a recent talk on self-acceptance, autistic attendees shared that his message helped them find new ways to embrace who they are. Following his first training with a school district, he was invited back after educators said it changed how they understand and support their students moving forward.
