What you can do in SENChat

Ask anything

Start a conversation in the right topic. Add photos or a quick poll, and blur anything sensitive so people choose whether to see it.

Get real answers

Replies from parents and carers who have lived it. Mark the replies that helped, so the best ones rise to the top for the next family.

Find your people

Browse topics from autism and ADHD to EHC plans, school and sleep. Follow a conversation to hear when someone replies.

Save what helps

Keep useful conversations to come back to, and search everything that’s been said before you ask again.

Talk privately

Message another member one to one when you’d rather not post in the open.

Feel safe

Members only, house rules everyone agrees to, a report button on everything, and a team that acts on every report.

Every SENChat conversation sits in one of these, so you can find the parents going through the same thing.

The house rules, in short

  • Be kind. Everyone is doing their best on a hard journey.
  • Protect children’s privacy. No names, schools or photos that could identify a child.
  • What’s shared here stays here. No screenshots of other people’s posts.
  • Share support, not diagnosis. Experience is valuable, but it isn’t professional advice.

How we keep SENChat safe, and where to get urgent help

Questions about SENChat

Who can see what I post?

Only signed-in SEN2gether members. SENChat isn’t on the open web, so posts never appear on Google or on this website.

Is it moderated?

Yes. Everyone agrees to our house rules when they join, every post and reply can be reported, and our team reviews reports and acts on them.

What can I talk about?

Anything on your SEND journey: diagnosis, school, EHC plans, therapies, sleep, food, benefits, your own wellbeing, or just how your week has gone. The topics below are a starting point.

Can professionals join?

Yes. Teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals are welcome, and there are topics just for them. The community is centred on families, so the house rules apply to everyone.

Does it cost anything?

No. SENChat, and everything else in SEN2gether, is free for families, on your phone or on the web.

You don’t have to do this alone
