Keeping our community safe
SEN2gether is a private, gently-moderated space for parents and carers. Here is how we keep it kind, safe and trustworthy — and where to turn if you need urgent help.
Our commitment
SEN2gether exists so no SEND parent or carer feels alone. That only works if it feels safe. We are a values-led team — including a health & wellbeing specialist and a data-protection specialist — and safeguarding sits at the centre of everything we build.
Community guidelines
By joining SENchat and our community you agree to:
- Be kind and respectful. We are all doing our best on a hard journey. No abuse, harassment or discrimination.
- Protect children's privacy. Never share anything that could identify a child — full names, schools, photos or specific details.
- Respect each other's privacy. What is shared in the community stays in the community. Don't screenshot or share others' posts.
- Share support, not diagnosis. Peer experiences are valuable, but they are not a substitute for professional medical, legal or educational advice.
- No spam, selling or promotion without our agreement.
Posts that break these rules may be removed, and accounts that repeatedly break them may be suspended.
How we moderate
SENchat is a members-only community — conversations are not on the open web. It is gently moderated against the guidelines above by our team, and every member can report a post or message that concerns them. We review reports promptly and act to keep the space safe. Guidance content (topics, podcasts and wellness) is created and reviewed by our team before it is published.
Your data & privacy
We are UK GDPR-compliant and our work is led by a data-protection specialist. We only collect what we need to run the community, we keep it secure, and we never sell your data. You can read the full detail in our Privacy Policy and Data Privacy Notice, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
If you need urgent help now
SEN2gether is a peer-support community — it is not a crisis or emergency service, and it is not monitored 24/7. If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, please contact one of these right away:
- Emergency: call 999 if there is an immediate risk to life.
- Shout: text SHOUT to 85258 — free, confidential, 24/7 mental-health text support.
- Samaritans: call 116 123 — free, 24/7, any time.
- NHS: call 111 for urgent medical help that isn't an emergency.
- Worried about a child? Contact the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000, or your local authority's children's services.
Report a concern
If something in the community worries you, use the report option on any post or message, or email us at hello@sen2gether.com and we will look into it.
